National Day Celebration: Mini-lunch concert and BBQ - June 6, 12:00 @ Norwegian Church in Lachine
Here is a sneak-peak. Order online or through a choir member. Can be picked up at a few different locations in and around Montréal depending on yours and choir members' location. Recipes are in Swedish and English.
The Swedish choir of Montreal has been in existence since the 1980's, and even back then, a traditional Fika would take place during rehearsals. Today, the choir has around 30 members, both men and women. Every week a couple of choir members are asked to bring in Fika. It’s most often homemade, and enjoyed with a cup of tea or coffee before we sing.
The deep sense of community and trust we have built within the choir is due largely to our Fika gatherings. We wanted to share this in some way, and that brought about the idea of a recipe book. With this in mind, we have collected our best Fika recipes that have been shared over the years.
The proceeds from this book will be used to finacially support and manage the choir and all its expenses. In this way, we will be able to create and share our music with all.
